PLEASE NOTE THAT AN AUCTION PREMIUM WILL BE CHARGED, ON TOP OF THE HAMMER PRICE, OF 5% (+VAT IN UK AND EUROPE). FROM 16TH JAN'23 THIS APPLIES TO ALL AUCTIONS ON THE MARKET, AND FEES ARE MIN €720 / MAX €7,200.

The sixth generation of the legendary Porsche 911 was dubbed the 997 and introduced in 2005.

It retained the previous model's basic profile but drew on the 993 for detailing. In addition, the new headlights reverted to the original bug-eye design. The interior was similarly revised, with strong links to the earlier 911 interiors while at the same time looking fresh and modern.

In February 2006, Porsche introduced the all-wheel-drive, twin-turbo powered flagship model – the 911 Turbo at the Geneva Motor Show.

The new 3.6-litre Turbo engine was derived from that of the GT3 sports-racer, featuring twin variable turbine technology (VTG) turbochargers from BorgWarner, and now developed its maximum of 473bhp at a relatively low (for a sports car) 6,000 revs, with 457lb/ft of torque available from 1,950 to 5,000rpm which gave the car acceleration of 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds.

As usual, the Turbo was styled more aggressively, with a wider body, broader rear wing, and air intakes in the front bumper and ahead of the rear wheels. Like its 996 predecessor, the new Turbo was only available with all-wheel drive.

During 2009, Porsche introduced the 997.2, which featured styling changes, revisions to the now 3.8-litre engine and the new ‘PDK’ dual clutch transmission system. The 997.2 Turbo also got an improved all-wheel-drive system.

These upgrades and enhancements meant that the car could cover the 0-100 km/h dash in just a little over 3 seconds.

Overview

This car is offered from outside of the European Union. It has been imported under temporary admission customs bond and is therefore subject to Dutch import tax (9%) on top of the winning bid price. Cars less than 30 years old will pay 10% Dutch import tax plus 21% VAT on the hammer. If exporting immediately to another country, then tax/duty will only be paid in that country.

The winning bidder will pay €500 customs charge on top of the ‘hammer’ price.

The winning bidder will receive a receipt for the final hammer value, as their proof of purchase.

This vehicle has been on static display in the Middle East for a number of years and the only history or paperwork available is displayed in the photo gallery. In all cases the papers shown are photocopies unless otherwise stated. We do not have the original paperwork.

Unless otherwise stated, we have not tried to start or drive the car and cannot vouch for its mechanical viability or functionality. The car is not registered anywhere.

It will require recommissioning prior to road use and is sold ‘as seen’.

As CARS Europe BV is the guarantor of all customs duties and taxes for vehicles within Dutch customs bond, the car cannot be released until full payment received.

All storage charges (€30 + local VAT per day commencing from the sixth day following the auction end) must be paid in full prior to the vehicle’s collection or onward transportation. Collection and viewings are strictly by appointment only.

Please send an email to the storage centre to ensure vehicle(s) are ready at time of collection. Photographic ID will be required at time of collection. If a third party is collecting for you, then written authorisation is required in advance from you and photographic ID of the third party is required at the time of collection.

CARS Europe BV will contact you after the balance payment is received to confirm onward transport requirements. For enquiries about import tax and shipping contact Madam Joanna Herlihy, +31 (0) 252 682 526, +44 7483 433912, [email protected].

VIN: WPOZZZ99ZAS760115.

In common with many vehicles from the vendor’s collection, this 2010 model year LHD auto 911 Turbo Coupé comes with no history or service records beyond whatever is shown in the documents section.

It has just 1,310 kms miles on its odometer.

It is Carrera White with a Carrera Red interior.

The specification sheet accompanying the car indicates that it was ordered with the following Porsche options: 250, 342 345, 422, 425, 509, 541, 603, 608, 635, 640, 641, 671, 676, 693, 762, 803, 845, 998, XWU, XXD, XXZ, XZD, XES, XJJ, XMA, XMJ, XMP, XNG, XNS, XSH, XTG, XUV, XV1, XVT, XVW, EAH, EAK, CMA, CNB, CUR, CVZ, DAB, DAC, CDT, CEE, CEF, CFX.

It was bought new for the vendor’s collection of static display vehicles in December 2009.

The car starts and runs but, as we haven’t driven it more than a few metres, our appraisal of it is entirely based on its cosmetic appearance.

Exterior

The car’s bodywork, not surprisingly on a car that’s barely covered any kilometres, is in excellent condition and there are no dinks, creases or other blemishes to speak of.

Aside from a sticky residue of glue where some bespoke badging was originally located at the base of the front wings, and one or two light scratches on the driver’s wing mirror, this is to all intents and purposes a brand-new 997.2 Turbo that just happens to be 13 years old.

The Carrera White paintwork is beyond reproach, as are the wheels, trim, lights, lenses, badging and all exterior fixtures and fittings.

Interior

The condition of the interior is equally pristine and devoid of any signs or age, use or wear.

The Carrera Red leather upholstery - front and back - looks wholly untroubled by the passage of time.

The seats are comfortable and supportive, as you would expect.

The door cards are also in immaculate order, as is the headlining, the carpets and mats, and the various carbon-fibre inserts and panels.

The forward luggage space is also very good.

The glove compartment contains a full set of manuals and handbooks.

We can’t make any claims about the full functionality of switches, knobs, levers, toggles, buttons, dials or other electrics as we haven’t driven the car more than a few metres.

Mechanical

The clean, dry engine and engine bay look fine and the undersides of the car appear to have plenty of structural integrity.

History

This car comes with no history and no service records, but it does have its specification sheet.

It must be registered in the country of your choice and you will need to contact the appropriate vehicle licensing agency for instructions on how to do this.

No documents shown in the gallery in any way constitute any kind of licensing or registration certification unless otherwise stated.

Summary

This very fine delivery-miles 997.2 Turbo is an excellent example of a famously potent and capable automotive legend.

Provided, of course, that the engine, electrics and mechanicals are amenable to recommissioning and as good as the rest of it, we think you’ll be getting a pretty much showroom-fresh 911 Turbo for the price of a 13-year-old one.

We’re confident to offer this car for auction with an estimate of €60,000-€90,000.
