Background

The Harley-Davidson FLSTN Softail Deluxe was introduced in 2007 as a way for Harley to make an old school bike with all the modern tech they had created throughout the 2000s. The paint and abundant chrome harkened back to Harley’s older days, while the inclusions of brand-new at the time, engines, transmissions, and fuel injection systems gave the classic ride the cutting-edge performance it deserved.

Exterior

This specific FLSTN Softail Deluxe was done with a tri-tone white, blue, and gold paintjob, and it has been excellently maintained. Flaws in the paint are extremely hard to come by. Furthermore, all of the chrome on the bike appears to be clean and without any wrinkles. With a seat height of 24.5”, this was the lowest riding motorcycle Harley had ever produced at the time. The black leather seats and saddlebags are all in good condition, and the main seat and saddlebags feature wonderfully crafted leather weave detailing. The speedometer and tachometer are cleverly placed in one single gauge that is pristine and extremely easy to read. Callbacks to the days of old are seen through the metal Harley classic logo on the gas tank, and the iconic tombstone shaped taillight. The chrome handlebars shine brilliantly, and the hidden clock also appears to be in great condition.

Mechanical

This motorcycle is equipped with a rigid-mount, 1,584cc, 96 cu in, Twin Cam 96B engine capable of generating 89.7 ft-lbs of torque @ 2,750rpm. Virtually every aspect of this engine was retooled and improved upon by the engineers at H-D, and the results were spectacular. Mated to a 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission and new Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection system, these Harleys promised a smooth, powerful ride with minimal input required. Chrome plated spoke rims are in great condition, and the tires show no cracks while having plenty of tread left to go. The chrome plated engine, transmission, and dual exhausts are spotless and look radiant in direct sunlight. The floorboards for both rider and passenger are in great condition as well.

History

The seller purchased this motorcycle brand-new in 2007. The bike is equipped with the factory alarm, and included with the sale are a windshield and a third rear luggage kit, the same equipment as the red FLSTC in this collection. The Harley has been regularly serviced the entire time, but seldom ridden.

Summary

Taking a tour of this bike through the photos demonstrates Harley-Davidson’s intense attention to detail, but realizing this is a 15-year-old motorcycle shows how much effort the seller has put in to maintain its condition. It is abundantly clear that the seller has taken great measures to ensure the preservation of this motorcycle and for that, we salute you. This Softail Deluxe is perfect motorcycle for someone who wants old school styling and modern performance. Do not miss this opportunity.

The Market by Bonhams is excited to offer this Harley-Davidson FLSTN Softail Deluxe for online auction with no reserve, and an estimate between $10,000 and $14,000.
