Background
The Chevrolet Corvette is a lightweight sports car produced by General Motors. The third generation of Corvettes, more commonly referred to as the C3, was built from 1967 to 1982.
The C3 was the second Corvette to bear the Stingray name, although it was made one word instead of two words like the previous C2 Corvette Sting Ray.
Following the C3, the Stingray name was retired until its return in 2014 where it was attached to the newly announced C7.
