This specific 3000 is from 1964, making it a Mark II, also referred to by enthusiasts as the BJ7. The BJ7 received a number of quality-of-life upgrades compared to its predecessors, and some performance boosts as well. Quality-of-life upgrades included a more comfortable interior, a wrap-around windshield, wind-up side windows, a quick-action folding roof, and swiveling quarter lights. Performance-wise, outgoing triple SU carburetors were replaced by new, twin SU HS6 carbs. A redesign of the dashboard moved the speedometer and tachometer to a new location, directly in front of the driver. The Mark III BJ8 was the final iteration of the Austin Healey 3000, and it remained in production until 1967 when the 3000 was ultimately discontinued. The car is beloved in both England and the United States. In 1963, 91.5% of all 3000s were exported, and most of them went to the United States.
