Fraser's review

Fraser Jackson - Consignment Specialist Message Fraser

“ An interesting set of body panels, for the Porsche Turbo Widebody look. ”

Comes 'as seen' with no fixing kit or spares.

Background

While the specific brand "Omnidesign" is not widely documented as a primary manufacturer of RSR kits in mainstream automotive retail, RSR wide-body conversion kits are a cornerstone of Porsche 911 customisation, allowing owners of classic and modern models to replicate the aggressive, track-ready aesthetic of the "RennSport Rennwagen" (RSR). These kits dramatically widen the vehicle's track, enabling the fitment of significantly larger wheels and tyres for improved mechanical grip and a "square-stance" look.

Overview

This lot comes to us as part of a fine collection of classic cars and motorcycles belonging to the late Professor Christopher H. Bovis FRSA, a widely published and respected expert in international and European business law, public procurement and public/private partnerships, and he was clearly a bit of a petrol head too!

This is an 11-piece set of composite body panels, to allow a Porsche 911 owner the chance to modify their car.

It'll require cutting the original factory fenders and welding or bonding the new flares in place, making the change irreversible of course.

Exterior

The parts have been stored for (we believe) at least 10-years.  But they have cleaned up well.

Interior

Each piece is undamaged and complete.

Mechanical

There are no fixing kits, screws or other parts, just the panels you see in the pictures.

History

These parts were bought by a private collector who owned four Porsche 911's at the time, and he no doubt had plans to upgrade one to a wide body RSR look track car, but never got around to it.

Summary

This is a super chance to pick-up a kit to improve your Porsche's look.

It's a No Reserve auction, so the parts will go to the highest bidder.
