“ Rugged, Go-Anywhere Motorcycle - No Reserve ”

This looks like a clear example of a special motorcycle. What users will be able to appreciate even today are the comfortable ride, easy serviceability, and no-nonsense styling. It mightn't match a dual-purpose Ducati of today, but as a classic, there's quite a lot of appeal in this ex-military motorcycle. Estimated $1,500 - $2,500.

PLEASE NOTE: The vehicles from this collection have been sitting for a number of years. Mechanical and running condition of each lot is unknown, and they are being sold 'as is'. This vehicle is being sold on Bill of Sale only.

Background

Made for the Swiss Army, the Condor A350 is a sturdy motorcycle that's not just great with usability but also comes with the distinction of being powered by a Ducati engine. For half a decade in the 70s, it was supplied to the army and some were still in service even decades later. And that's because these were easy to service.

Overview

It's a relatively unknown brand, Condor, but one with a really good product: the A350. Featured here is what looks like an ex-army A350. Ready to take on everything you throw at it, this Condor A350 looks to be in great shape. It even has some army-spec accessories intact like the saddle and tank bags.

Exterior

A pretty handsome-looking motorcycle, the Condor A350 was built with a purpose: to offer army personnel a reliable mode of transport that has extended abilities when it came to off-roading, ease of service, and overall usability. Worth noting is that the motorcycle has its kick lever on the left side.

Interior

Not applicable here, but from behind the upright handlebar, one would see a nice 140 km/h speedometer along with telltale lights.

Mechanical

For the A350, Condor used a double-cradle layout. It has drum brakes (which did the job fine), whereas the engine was a 25-bhp-producing single-cylinder unit. The Ducati-made engine further amplified the brand's choice to make it easy to service.

History

From 1973 to 1978, Condor was awarded a contract to manufacture motorcycles for the Swiss army. According to Rider Magazine, 3,000 examples were produced for the army. Odometer reads 43,550 miles.
