Background

Designed by the then-fledgling Ian Callum, the Aston Martin DB7 Vantage was revealed to an overwhelmingly positive reception at the 1993 Geneva Motor Show and was subsequently put into production.

Engineered in Oxfordshire – and therefore close to our hearts here at Bonhams|Cars Online – the DB7 did nothing short of transforming the state and fortunes of Aston Martin upon its launch, eventually becoming the most popular and successful car Aston had ever made at the time of its replacement in 2004.

Initially launched with a 3.2-litre supercharged straight-six engine, the word ‘Vantage’ was brought back into Aston Martin’s vocabulary in 1999 when the V12 version was launched and christened the DB7 Vantage.

Powered by a 6.0-litre, 414bhp V12 engine, the Vantage could sprint from 0–62mph in just 5.2 seconds and go on to a limited top speed of 165mph. When a manufacturer has to limit the top speed of a car, you know it’s something special – and the soundtrack from that naturally aspirated V12 is simply wonderful.

Overview

Registered on 25th March 2002 by Stratstone of Mayfair, this stunning Aston Martin DB7 Vantage has had just three former keepers over its 23 years, who have collectively covered an exceptionally low 29,601 miles.

The DB7 comes from nine years of current ownership, during which it has seen very little use, in fact, fewer than 2,000 miles have been added in that time, as reflected in the MoT history. Despite the low mileage, the Aston appears to have been well maintained, with several service stamps and invoices documenting work carried out. Most notably, two recent invoices dated late 2024 and early 2025 total over £5,000, with only around 300 miles driven since.

An excellent example with low ownership, low mileage and recent expenditure addressing any potential issues, this DB7 Vantage is ideal for anyone looking to experience DB7 ownership at its best.

Exterior

Instantly recognisable, the Aston Martin DB7 Vantage exudes timeless British elegance by blending classic grand tourer proportions with a muscular yet stylish appearance.

Finished in Forest Green Metallic, the DB7 presents extremely well thanks to the low mileage covered. Starting at the front, the iconic Aston grille allows sufficient airflow to keep the monstrous V12 cool. The flush-fitting headlights are in very good condition with no damage to the lenses, and the same can be said for the lower fog lights. There may have been a small amount of paintwork carried out on the bumper at some point, evidenced by a few small fish-eyes on the nearside; however, these are very minor. The long bonnet has bulges in all the right places and aligns neatly, with equal gaps along each wing rail.

Moving around the car and looking down the long flanks, no dings or dents were spotted, and the door shut lines appear even. The chrome trim on the wing vents and door handles is in good order with no tarnishing to note. All of the windows are in good condition with no noticeable scratches, and the seals show no signs of shrinkage or perishing.

At the rear, the factory parking sensors have helped protect the bumper from any unwanted scrapes. The rear light lenses are free from damage, and the polished tailpipes allow the V12 to breathe, emitting a wonderful sound.

The factory ten-spoke alloy wheels are in excellent condition with just a couple of very minor marks, and the Bridgestone S-02 tyres have plenty of tread remaining.

Interior

Inside the DB7, the colour scheme of Forest Green to match the exterior, combined with Parchment leather, brings a luxurious feel to the cabin. The front seats are in excellent condition, with only a few age-related creases in the Parchment leather, but no signs of damage. The rear seats are in excellent shape and don’t appear to have been used much.

The main section of the dashboard matches the exterior with its Forest Green leather, highlighted by a walnut veneer that continues onto the centre console and remains in good order. The instruments are reported to be working correctly, as is the switchgear, which shows very little sign of age.

Looking up, the Alcantara headlining brings a light feel to the cabin and is free from damage. As you’d expect from Aston Martin, attention to detail is superb – the Forest Green leather-bound carpets are in excellent condition throughout the cabin, continuing into the boot area, where the toolkit, warning triangle and Becker CD multichanger are located.

Mechanical

The beating heart of the Aston Martin is the wonderful 5.9-litre V12, producing approximately 420bhp and 400lb ft of torque. This makes the DB7 capable of achieving 0–60mph in around 5 seconds and reaching a top speed between 180–185mph.

Firing up without missing a beat, the V12 bursts into life with a deep tone before settling into a smooth idle. The car runs with no issues reported by the vendor, and no warning lights are displayed. Recently, the car has been fitted with a new fuel pump, radiator and other components, as listed on invoices within the documents section.

Fitted with the desirable five-speed manual gearbox, the Aston offers a smooth change, and the car pulls as you would expect through the rev range.

The tourer handles superbly, soaking up the road on a long cruise; yet, should you fancy a more spirited drive, the DB7 doesn’t disappoint. Bringing the car to a stop are vented front and rear discs, which perform exactly as they should.

History

Despite the low mileage, the Aston comes with 14 stamps in the service book from either main dealers or specialists, plus further invoices showing work carried out - most recently in December 2024 and August 2025 - totalling in excess of £5,000.
Alongside the invoices are several previous MoT certificates, two sets of keys and the owner’s manual pack.

A fresh MoT was issued on 20th August 2025, which the car passed with no advisories.

As an added bonus, the Aston also includes the cherished registration number DB02 SAM.

Summary

This 2002 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage, finished in elegant Forest Green Metallic with a luxurious Parchment leather interior, presents beautifully with just 29,601 miles from new. Registered by Stratstone of Mayfair, it has had only three former keepers over its 23-year life, each clearly caring for it with minimal use and careful ownership.

Accompanied by a strong service history with several stamps and supporting invoices, this DB7 has been well maintained throughout its life. Combining low mileage, a desirable colour combination and strong provenance, this example is estimated between £20,000 and £25,000   and represents an excellent opportunity to acquire one of Aston Martin’s most refined and timeless grand tourers.
