Background

The GTA was introduced alongside the GT at the 2002 Birmingham Motor Show with a 5 speed Touchtronic automatic gearbox and with the engine tuned to the Vantage’s standard 420 bhp.

The ‘Touchtronic’ gearbox in the GTA was not designed to cope with the additional 15 bhp generated by the GT, which was distributed via a six-speed manual gearbox.

Aside from the gearbox, engine specification and badging, the GTA is otherwise indistinguishable from the GT.

Both the GT and GTA shared changes to the suspension, steering, wheels, and bodywork: the latter gaining bonnet vents, a boot spoiler and a re-shaped under-tray.

The DB7 GTA is an even rarer car than the DB7 GT, with only 112 ever built. Of these, just 52 were manufactured for export.

This vehicle has been on static display for a number of years and the documented history available is limited to that displayed in our photography section.

Built in 2003, this LHD auto DB7 V12 GTA was bought for the vendor’s collection of static display cars in 2005.

Prior to that, it had been living in France.

In common with many vehicles from the vendor’s collection, the car comes with no history or service records.

We haven’t tried to drive this car and can therefore only comment on its cosmetic status.

Finished in Pentland Green Metallic paint with a Forest Green and Parchment interior, this car is in exceptional condition and has covered very few kilometres.

Odometer: 3,389 km.

VIN: SCFAB22323K304166

Exterior

This car has covered fewer than 4,000 km from new in 2003 and, since 2005, has been kept warm and dry indoors.

Unsurprisingly, it looks pretty much like a new car.

The condition of the bodywork and paint finish is really very good indeed.

There are no dinks, dents or creases of any significance and the paint has plenty of shine and lustre.

There are just one or two marks here and there, but these are just dirt and will easily wash off.

The panel gaps and shut lines are consistent and even.

The wheels are in very good order.

The lights, lenses, badging and exterior trim are all fine.

It presents extremely well from every angle and looks far younger than its 19 years of life would suggest.

Interior

The interior of the car is in time-warp condition and looks as fresh and unused as you would expect with an odometer reading this low.

The leather upholstery is more or less pristine.

The seats are comfortable and supportive both front and back.

The carpets and mats are in excellent order.

The door cards are excellent as is the headlining.

All of the wooden veneers on the dashboard and door cappings are rich and glossy.

The dashboard, steering wheel and instruments are equally impressive.

We can’t make any claims about the functionality of switches, knobs, levers, toggles, buttons, dials or other electrics as we haven’t tried to start or drive the vehicle.

The boot is clean, tidy and in fine order.

The plaques on the kick plates are missing, presumably because they were personalised for the first owner.

Mechanical

Everything in the engine bay is clean, dry and seems to be in its right and proper place.

The undersides of the car appear to have a good deal of structural integrity and seem to us to be untroubled by either time or use.

History

This car doesn’t come with any history or service records.

It must be registered in the country of your choice and you will need to contact the appropriate vehicle licensing agency for instructions on how to do this.

Any paperwork shown in the gallery is a facsimile and in no way constitutes any kind of licensing or registration certification.

Summary

This must be one of the best DB7 V12 GTAs out there.

It has covered very few kilometres and looks as if it only recently left a car showroom.

We think this is an exceptionally desirable example of a rare and very capable model – provided, of course, that the engine and mechanicals are as impressive as the rest of it.

We’re confident to offer this car for auction with an estimate of €20,000 - €30,000.
